With FortConsult′s on-time information service, StayAlert™, you do not need to devote resources to dealing with and worrying about new vulnerabilities.
A StayAlert™ subscription means that we assume the responsibility for acquiring, sorting and evaluating the huge volume of information on new vulnerabilities and worms that are relevant for your IT systems. We also ensure that you will be notified when and if you have to act in order to solve a security problem that we believe needs to be addressed. You will also receive notice of what you have to do to deal with the problem and when this needs to be done.
Our notification service enables you to react to security issues immediately. We make sure that you are notified of what you should do as soon as the new vulnerability is discovered rather than always having to wait for the suppliers to release patches. |
| |
| Make it easy for yourselves |
It requires experience and detailed knowledge of vulnerabilities to assess the many security threats, irrespective of whether an early warning system is used or not. With StayAlert™ we assume responsibility for maintaining an overview and ensuring that nothing is overlooked. You will receive expert knowledge from an external source and can concentrate on solving the security problems that we identify.
FortConsult′s security consultants work with vulnerabilities every single day. We follow structured working procedures and use a number of tools to ensure that nothing is overlooked. Furthermore, since we always follow up to make sure that the necessary security threats are dealt with in practice, you can always be secure in the knowledge that your systems can deal with worm and hacker attacks. |
| |
| We are your right-hand man |
In line with us looking after the assessment of new security threats on your behalf, we will naturally obtain a more detailed knowledge of your organisation and IT systems. This enables us to make a more specific contribution with detailed knowledge of vulnerabilities, which you are always welcome to draw on in order to solve your security problems. We generally attach great importance to clear communication and have considerable experience in making the security problems easy to understand - also for non-technicians.
Interesting key figures A company which receives 1000 warnings on new security threats per quarter can normally reduce the figure to 100 by subscribing to an early warning system. Furthermore, by outsourcing the assessment of new security threats, the figure can be cut to no more than 3 to 5. |
| |
| The process is simple |
When you choose to outsource the assessment of new security threats to us, we begin by obtaining a thorough understanding of your organisation, network and business priorities, so that we are equipped to be able to assess the new security threats on your behalf. We draw up a mini-risk analysis that shows which types of vulnerabilities and worms your business is most vulnerable to - and we categorise your systems based on their importance for your business.
In addition, we reach agreement as to which escalation procedure we shall use in the event that you do not react to our warnings of important new vulnerabilities and worms, as well as establishing the levels for these warnings.
| Example of levels for warnings |
| Level 1: |
URGENT |
You must confirm that you have resolved the security problem within 24 hours |
|
| Level 2: |
NORMAL |
You must solve the problem within 14 days |
|
| Level 3: |
LOW |
You must solve the problem at the next security update |
|

| We tell you when you need to do something |
| From the point at which the subscription for StayAlert™ comes into effect, you will regularly receive tailor-made e-mails and telephone calls from us with information about the vulnerabilities that we feel you should do something about. We will hold monthly status meetings with you, in which we will present a report of the vulnerabilities we have assessed during the previous month, and you will tell us about any changes that have occurred in your organisation and IT architecture. At the same time, we will give you a general review of the new security threats that have arisen during the previous month so that you can keep an eye on what is happening in the world around you. |
| |
| Tailor-made to your needs |
| You can choose StayAlert™ to consist of our assessment of worms and vulnerabilities on those of your IT systems that can be reached from the Internet. Alternatively, StayAlert™ can also include our assessment of security threats to your internal systems. The internal threat picture is different to that from the Internet, and thus requires another type of assessment of the security threats as well as another risk assessment and analysis of the vulnerabilities. We have great experience in assessing both types of threats, and we are thus happy to assume responsibility for both areas. |
| |
| An alternative for large enterprises |
Business enterprises that employ their own security experts can, as an alternative to StayAlert™, choose to subscribe to an early warning system and assess the vulnerabilities based on the information they receive from the system. FortConsult sells one of the market′s leading early warning systems and will be happy to help implement it into your organisation.
